Hello and welcome.
As you will have probably come from our website, there is no need to go over what Save ILF is about. If you have come from another route and want to know about Save ILF, please visit www.saveilf.co.uk.
This forum is apart of Save ILF and it is for the use of anybody who want to discuss ILF issues, chat to other people, ask questions, talk about care issues, employing, social services, etc. The forum is set up in a way that only registered users can put messages on, reply to posts, take part in polls and debates. If you want to do any of this, then you will need to register by clicking the “Register” button at the top of the page.
From time to time, we will be setting up debates and polls and would kindly ask for every member to take part. This is so we can build up a report on what people are experiencing, thinking, concerns, fears, etc. The whole idea of this is that as a group, we can hand the report to the main bodies (government, ILF and social services) showing what we think, what independence is all about for us, why we need continuous provisions of care and why ILF should be kept. The reason for this is, I believe that we as the ILF Recipients are never asked how we feel on matters, for any input on subjects or what we would like to see happen. They are more concerned carrying out reports about care homes, hospitals and children. You never hear much about severely disabled people age 16 – 65, living independently lives and their problems. It is because we are the minority and never heard. So its time to change this, get our voices heard and tell them our views!
All we ask from people is not to use bad language, make threats to others, and name people that are being talked about (i.e. care managers, social workers, etc). If any of this occurs, the administrator will give the offend person a warning and if it continues, then the person will be banned from the forum.
Thank you,
Calum
